An experienced industry professional, Brandon watched Wall Street ruin Main Street in 2008. The mortgage-backed securities fiasco led to the 2008 ‘Great Financial Crisis’ which affected him profoundly. He was compelled to look deeper into the machinations of government and central bank policy. What Brandon discovered was deeply disturbing – unnervingly high relative levels of public and personal debt, direct central bank intervention in capital markets, outrageous bank leverage and the disconcerting growth of a new variety of dangerous financial derivatives with multiple layers of counter-party risk. This led him to question the very nature of money itself.
He was drawn into the world of finance and investments. He states,
